An Anthropological Observation of Hospitality Dynamics in Münster’s Restaurant Scene

20.00

The article analyses a restaurant visit in Nottuln as an anthropological case study of hospitality dynamics, workforce diversity, and service quality. While the restaurant’s physical ambiance was warm and traditional, the service appeared disengaged and lacking enthusiasm, possibly due to staff fatigue and working conditions. The author observes patterns of selective friendliness and perceived racial bias, where European customers seemed to receive warmer treatment than migrant or darker-skinned patrons. Using cultural and motivation theories, the text argues that social biases and workplace factors contribute to a decline in genuine hospitality and inclusivity.
